How do you find Tumblr theme development in comparison to WordPress?

It's quite a bit easier. Once you learn the template tags, it's a piece of cake to build your own Tumblr themes with advanced functionality.
On the flip side, it's more limiting than WordPress, for obvious reasons. However, that's not a bad thing in a lot of ways. I think the narrow focus and limitations can cause you to be very creative in your implementation.
