The idea is when you click the button, the list appears so you can activate multiple items

The wooden background definitely works here, and love the extra subtle texture on it as well!

I tried some other background/color schemes. But the website itself has a concept of a "Forest of Mangas", so I decided to leave the wood there.
And about the subtle texture on top of the wood, it was all about trying to avoid the cliche that we were talking about haha
