Since making a new iTunes icon is all the rage here lately, this may as well be my first dribbble. Even though I quickly downgraded to iTunes 9, the old iTunes logo did feel outdated. I don't care for glossy icons though, and vinyl is still cool so this is my iTunes icon.

There actually are some, but at this small size they blend into the graphic (the vinyl design was originally done for use at much larger size). Maybe I'll rework it to make it more visible at icon size. Thanks!

Ha, Edward. I tried it at first with the hole in the center, but it just didn't look good against a black background.
Oh, and I already beat you to it with the grooves though, the version I uploaded to my blog a while after I uploaded here has grooves. :D

By popular demand, here's a downloadable, updated vinylTunes icon (now featuring 100% more grooves). I've included one version with the shadow and one without.
Mac download (.icns + 256px .png)
PC download (.ico + 256px .png)
It's free for personal use, but read the license.txt file anyway. Let me know if anything's not working or looking right. I don't own CandyBar or any other icon replacement apps so I haven't been able to test the .icns file (or the .ico file).

I understand why they removed the CD from the icon (they don't have nothing do to with music nowadays) but the new one is just plain boring!
