Spent this afternoon working on an illustration for a new product range/website we're working on for provisional drivers. With the younger demographic, it seemed like an ideal opportunity to try something a bit more quirky with some extra personality.
From an original scanned sketch, I created the outlines before tweaking and filling with flat basic colours.
I now need to add some extra depth with shading and highlights, trying to avoid gradients where possible.
After a bit more tweaking of the cartoon car from Friday, I'm now working on the webpage prototype, putting it into context.
The aim is to use established styles found on UK roadsigns so visitors are familiar with the messages and calls to action. It also lends as an educational aid for provisional drivers learning the Highway Code.
