In this version I took the concept a step further. The font remains the same but laid out in horizontal format. This is a slightly more whimsical alternative.

Hi Rich, I reckon this is a bit too literal, it would be fine if the site had something to do with milk but as its just a name perhaps its better not to reinforce it too much.
Thanks Alen and Rich!
It may be a touch literal although my tagline idea was 'cream of the crop' and the main colour of the site is pure white. Both these aspects would be associated heavily with milk. Maybe this would help reinforce the concept?
Cream of the crop, nice. I do understand that it's often a good idea to have a big concept (like Dribbbles basketball theme, Logopond's pond theme) but personally I like to strip everything back and make it purely content, like those frameless frames you get in cheap shops. Black and white suggests elemental functionality, a sense of utilitarianism and is why perhaps I think the simpler option is better.
I would however recommend ignoring my personal preferences as I think I'm not commercial enough sometimes!
Let me add the reason why I like it. How did I get this name along with the description Rich gave us - when you 'milk' the cow you extract the 'milk' out of it, you extract the point of milking it in the first place, you extract a drink that is good for a human body on many levels (that's why people drink it, right?). So if we're talking about strapping it down to elemental, to the point, extracting out the 'core meaning' out of it - then this logo and brand name is even more 'on point' than it seems!
Although I like this, I think the minimal approach of the one in the circle works better. I think the meaning of milk as "essence" is applicable ... so a logo stripped down to its barest essence seems more appropriate.
My vote goes here Rich! I love the simplicity here. There's something extremely comical about the diagonal stroke of the K morphing into milk! Nice work bud!

Fair enough @Richard Baird, I love and respect your points of view. True, after all content is king!

I think it just comes down to personal design philosophies, however you choose to brand it I will be visiting.

Instead of 'floats' or 'likes' we could actually award 'DROPS' to great logo solutions there ;)
