The background looks almost exactly like an Iconfactory-designed iTunes replacement icon I've been using for quite some time. I can tell the design has been recreated and not just copied pixel-for-pixel, but the colors and concept are almost identical…so similar that yours must have been heavily inspired by theirs (though perhaps subconsciously?).

@Jason It could also be said that Iconfactory might have been influenced by an icon from my first icon set that I made a few years ago. They did make theirs a lot better though, hehe. Good eye! - All 3 together -

Aha…the rabbit hole goes deeper than I suspected! In isolation it does look like you and the Iconfactory guys who worked on this set (David Lanham and Louie Mantia) might have hit the ball back and forth a couple times…but then I remembered this:

Seems it's more a matter of everyone being in tune with Apple's designs. At least something useful came out of tv though!
I'd agree that Iconfactory did a nicer job vs. your original, but your new one's definitely on par (and actually, I prefer the slightly richer contrast and saturation in yours, and the bright flare gives it more punch). The metal frame reflected on the glass is a nice touch. The only thing I don't care for is the rounded beam that joins the music notes. Seems a bit out-of-place with the rest of the design. I do like the flatter shading on the notes though (there's more than enough gloss in the rest of the design).
By the way, I don't find it overly busy. The Iconfactory icon's been in my dock for at least a year, and it doesn't bother me.

Totally subjective criticism: The dark lip on the top part of the metal ring seems out of place. I wouldn't expect it to dip in there if the thing were physically in front of me. I love the colors though.
