I think buttons should have some kind of bevel.
Until I read the title I wasn't sure what i was looking at.

Interesting blue color choice for the slider. I’m guessing it can be resized to select a larger range of dates as well?

Still very early but looks like a nice start.

@Anton — I agree. Even though it says "Mar 2012". Maybe "Days" in the blue area would help?

@Anton Kudin @Jack Bingham Actually I like that recommendation of "Day(s)" in the blue. Thanks fellas.

@Brian Hoff maybe try to riff off of apple's video trim interface too?

The two rounded slider edges (darker blue) look secondary in relationship to the slider area (lighter blue). Agreeing with @Anton Kudin that the actionable slider edges should be more primary (maybe with a stronger depth or more lightness)?

Also, the slider might look nice, but how would you represent a greater date?. Say someone wishes to highlight days 3 to 17. This might pose some usability challenges (scrolling left, scrolling right, dragging a slider into a farther / non visible scroll area, etc etc). I'd probably remove the scrollable slider and simplify it by just showing a full month range (1 to 31 days) at all times. Simpler is better. :)

Another way to simplify would be to have a more consistent axis of action. You're using a vertical axis for months, and horizontal for days. Cleaner solution might be a horizontal axis for both months and days?

    Hope it's constructive. Cheers.
