Absolutely HATE the new iTunes icon, so I had to make my own.
Couple of options... Im using the big one.
You can download them here: http://cl.ly/a47c5a0cb391a685079a

And here's a version with 90º light source, but just for the one with the arrow. http://cl.ly/0227b612211cd7ac58be

Didn't optimise for 32 and 16 yet. But it doesn't look too bad.

These don't look dimensional, are you intending them to have such a flat look? Also I feel like, especially at small sizes, the legs on the music note are too thin.

Is that a... 60 degree highlight and shadow? That makes NO sense to me.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Not sure if I agree that they look flat - definitely not any flatter than I intended. Looks really good on my dock actually.

I agree the legs of the music note needs thickening, will work on that, though honestly I think the music note is totally wrong for iTunes since it's not just about "tunes" anymore.

    What's wrong with a 60º light source?

Everything else in the doc (default Apple icons) have 90 degree shadows.

Ah gotcha, although it's the convention, my brain doesn't look at it in my dock and shouts "that's wrong!" I think it looks better that way. I'll try 90º and see if that works as well.
    Thanks again!

90º light source - have to say it does look better imo!

I think you just added the shadow that gets automatically added in Dock.app, it'll do that for you :)

No, it adds a bit of a drop shadow but now a base shadow. :-)

Ha! My mind went in this same direction: music notes really don't make a whole lot of sense anymore, and the new logo's atrocious, so a play arrow is a perfect metaphor. It represents music, movies, podcasts, ringtones, books, and even apps.

I'm glad you took the time to make this. I probably would have gotten around to it at some point, but you did the dirty work for me. Thanks, I think the 90º version looks great!
