I really fell in love with the zelda-esque gemstone, but never loved the wood. Another take on the filled illustration. Wood and wood grain are completely reillustrated as well as gemstone polished up.

It's a ton more whimsical now... Really lends itself well to the style and feeling you've got going.

Stands out much stronger now. Dan said the heart appears to be lacking some gloss. Perhaps not as "glassy" as expected - *but* it definitely looks cool, no doubt about that. Perhaps getting any more glassy would pull it too far away from the "woody" theme.

This is a much stronger shot. I agree, it's very zelda-esque.

I'm not sure whether it would get lost at this size, but I'd like if some of the same (or similar) background texture were used on the wooden heart.

Brekk, that answers your question as there is that texture...its just barely visibile.

The only thing I don't like about this version is that the wood around the heart looks flat. Overall, though, it's a great improvement.

Chris, yes great point...it's also lost a bit of it's texture due to scaling. I will indeed remedy those :) Thanks for your opinion.

Not sure if I like it. Please let me know what you think.

Not really feeling the mustard-yellow color of the branch. Doesn't seem to tie-in to the wood color of the heart.

Phil, I was trying to indicate a younger sprout from an older tree. Perhaps more a green would do the trick.

    Gedy, thanks for the gasp!

No idea what I'm looking at as I've never played Zelda. But it looks pretty. Regarding the sprout, perhaps something lighter / greener like so?

Lovely seeing Clumsy in action too.
