@Lucio Bracamontes Thanks. I actually used Cinema 4D and then traced on top of the raw 3D image in Illustrator, also adding details such as wood grain and shadows.
@Louis Bullock Thank you man. I hope it will come out great in the printed version.
@Louis Bullock I've actually never heard of Monocle, but I just checked out the link you posted and yeah, that style would definitely fit in there. It would be fun to make something for them :) And I totally agree with you on the stock issue there — uncoated FTW! And that goes for front covers as well :p
@Joaquim Marques Nielsen Absolutely! However, I've found that uncoated covers can get rather grubby (as I've found with a copy of Smith Journal), but it's all about the feeling, and the contact with the material :)
@matt hochleitner Nice :) I'm really looking forward to seeing the magazine myself. I've arranged for them to send them over, so I have it for documentation. I hope the colors came through alright.

Looking good! I've studied things like this, nice to see them in a more artistic representation :)

@Joaquim Marques Nielsen Have you thought of illustrating for Monocle? This'd totally fit their colour scheme.
This better be printed on un coated stock, can't stand the glossy stuff :D
