I'm always slightly disappointed when you use an existing typeface... I prefer the custom stuff and I think this should be custom, simply because it's for yourself.
Btw; why didn't you use your own Matchbook font?
Also: on Flickr you described this as a "new logo for new things..." So, what's it for then?
Christian: it is all custom actually - though I admit it isn't obvious. It's a logo for me, so I kind of want it to be understated - I'm not trying to make a big statement with it, and would rather my other work do that. As far as Matchbook is concerned, it's honestly not a type-style I think I'd find myself using very much.
@Simon Walker Okay, slightly less disappointed then :)
You've never released Matchbook as a font, have you? Are you still working on it? You should. Ask @Dan Cassaro; it's like printing money...
It isn't released yet, no, but it's definitely coming. It's been near impossible to get to with everything else going on, but I'm planning to have it done soon. Dan's font is amazing - hoping to buy it myself one day. Thanks for the encouragement though, Christian.

Thanks all.
Kevin, Emir: the nickname was given to me because of the Super Furry Animals. Never sure how I felt about it, but it stuck anyway.

This has a nice soul/jazz quality to it. Simple funkiness and just a cool style. Nice job Simon.
