OK, I'm looking for some serious feedback here. I inherited the CURE logo design when I came to CURE, and have been wanting to make some updates ever since. My train finally came in.

So I have a pretty restricted brief - basically just basic updates to the existing concept. The top version is what I've come up with, and the bottom is the original.

There's a lot of factors at play, and many of them are explained here. But I would love to hear any and all input on this one please.

    Thanks!!

New is definitely better. The "now" / old one looks like the crutch is levitating next to the guy's arm. New one looks like it's falling (much better).

Oh, and the letterforms are a lot more cohesive in the new one too. Melikey. One suggestion: Go back to the Gotham-ish font for "International" except adjust the kerning so it serves as a "foundation" underneath the word Cure. (Meaning, so it won't extend under the gal's feet)

Not to mention the old logo looks like the boy is wearing tightey whiteys. And I actually like the new font for international. It evokes energy and movement which is a nice compliment to the children.

I yield. Keep the new "International" font. :)

Maybe just make it black-ish though, so the difference in green from "Cure" and "International" looks more intentional. (As my eye doesn't immediately "get" that it matches the children's hue)

I agree with Nathan's second comment on the word "International." Make it darker, as the matching color from the children isn't obvious considering how thin the lines are.

As far as the rest of it goes, very nice work on updating it. The children look much better as solid figures (except for the heads of course) and the crutch looks as if it is no longer needed in your design, which is what needed to be conveyed here. I also think the "cure" text is much nicer, flows better, and isn't disjointed like it used to be.

    Thanks for the input all.

@Chris - so funny everybody who sees the logo who didn't really know about CURE before or look at it much always says that! You're like the 5th person to say that. Funny thing is nobody around the office I've talked to ever thought of it until I pointed it out recently. :-)

@Nathan, Chris and Patrick - thanks for the input on the "International" font. That font is one I've used as a compliment other areas on the new site design, and I'm soon going to incorporate it into our branding guidelines as such. But also we're considering using a version of the logo without that word anyway for the site header.

I'm not sure that the new iso (not the logo, but the drawing) is better than the old one because is more complex, and depends on where this is going to be used.
Generally in isologos, simplicity is the key, so if this is going to be printed in one colour and in small size, then I prefer the actual iso, maybe tweaked in the "white tights" part.

On the logo, I LOVE what you did with the 'r' and the 'e'. Not so sure about the 'International' font, because of the same reasons as above, not legible on small sizes, but if it's not SO important, then it's a nice and friendly font to use!

@Juan - yeah, at the office we're really going back and forth about those kids. I've produced about 5 versions of them so far, which you can see here if you'd like to see the alternatives. Everybody's pretty stoked on the "cure" piece though, so that's good!

Everything is subtle changes, but overall works really well! :) I like how their hands look more like they are holding, more distinct features in the people, and the typography under it works well. :)

Thanks everyone for the great feedback. Based on input here at dribbble, and also some really great input over at ConceptFeedback we settled on this final iteration of our logo updates.

In the end we felt that dropping "International" was in the "brand's best interest" as it allows a lot more creative freedom with the logomark, and also we couldn't really make a great case that it was adding tons to the message.

Also, what you're looking at is the "hot project" in the office right now, the CUREkids web app which we are launching soon...
