@Taylor, this was just a logo exploration along the way while setting the branding for this year's conference. But mainly it's a context decision—consistent branding is important, but in this context, the logos would compete too much to make it worthwhile.
Love that diagonal type on the "presents" I don't really like the black shape though. I suppose my issue is that I don't like that each side is a different length.

I almost love it.
It bothers me that you're using one flat flag (with italicized text) and one wavy flag (non-italicized)...
Not sure if the solution is to have them one way or the other, but it definitely bugs me.
Also, love the "presents" text. ;)

@Shane, it's a crop—the black shape comes to points at the top and bottom. So, yes, sides are different lengths, but it's a hexagon, not an octagon.
