Working on an iOS app for quote.fm, a service for recommending articles worth reading by sharing a quote.
(You should have a look, it's an awesome website!)
This is actually the first time I don't use any skeuomorphism techniques for an application design. It's more difficult than expected, however I like it as much as trying to imitate real life objects.

This is really fresh and clean. I really really like it.
Are the second level items supposed to be nested under the first selected item, or are they an extra content filter or category mode? I only ask because maybe you want to darken level 2 to make it look like it's beneath level 1 etc.
@Tait Brown Thanks for your feedback.
The second level is for selecting the categories for the quotes/articles you want to read. Nevertheless they are individually selectable for each function you can pick on the first level.
So darken those icons may be a good idea, I have to play around with it to find out. :D
Love the feel of it. I think it combines the internet experience and the experience of a print medium really well.
i love this :) quote.fm is a great service and deserves an app as beautiful as this :)
