Not quite done with this, but I'm mostly happy with it at this size.

Hot. Really nice. And while we're at it, how nice is it to have an app with iPhone, iPad and Mac flavours?

Only comment (if you're fishing): Looks like shading might be too high contrast, for my liking anyway.

This is really awesome! I'd wanna see this in small sizes (32px, 16px) as well!

@Bjango ✎ Marc Edwards I keep going back and forth on the contrast. I'll see how it looks toned down a bit. Thanks!

@CJ Melegrito The smaller (and very large) sizes still need some work. I'll definitely post them once they're in better shape.

I guess this would look even better on the default dock! Does this mean Notefile is growing up and becoming a "real" Mac app? *excited!*

I feel the 2D dock is making this icon darker than it actually is although this looks great. Also can't wait to see smaller versions. Love the tilt too!

    Thanks all!

@Tim Van Damme Yes! You'll be able to run it in the dock or the menu bar, and it will have some cool features that aren't possible with a widget, like Spotlight support and eventually iCloud syncing.

  12. Taking a break from battling iCloud to clean up this icon a bit. I find it hard to stop incessantly tweaking little details. I finally got to a point where my revisions looked worse, and I had to backtrack a little, so that's usually a good sign that I should stop.

The main change here is that I lowered the contrast on the cover, so that top corner isn't quite so bright, and the bottom is a bit brighter. It's harder to tell in the smaller versions, but I also toned down the texture quite a bit—it's a huge improvement on the large sizes. Then I spent far too long adjusting shadows and sharpening. I also cleaned up the 32px version quite a bit, and created a new 16px version.

For comparison, I've attached a full view of the original and new versions (minus the 1024 size).
