I like the border on the plate! Did you try crossing the cutlery slightly, still keeping it pointing towards the same corner?

Damn. This is top-notch photorealistic work right here.

I like it. One practical comment: When the image is shrunk to a lower resolution, I have a feeling that the silverware will be a bit of a wash against the plate, making it hard to tell immediately that it is a food app. The unfortunate truth of the app store is that this image will make an impact on downloads and if it isn't totally apparent it is a food app the impact could be negative. All that aside, great execution on the photorealism.

@Miles Lennon True that and thanks. On iPhone 4 this works as it is, but on lower resolutions I had to increase the contrast somewhat.

Really nice icon, i like it Miika, but I think that the gold "border" looks at bit smaller on the left side.

Not sure if you agree... but this to me has much more impact than the last one.

Still a few things I would change though. I think the gradient on the fork, the black area, is too much, something about it doesn't look right. Try bringing the fork and knife ends together on the outside of the plate a little bit.

Maybe add a little bit more of the gold border and have a texture to make it seem ribbed.
