… and skipping to the right position would be much easier.

Yeah, would be very useful :)
It's a cool idea! Could be executed a bit better though.
Also, where's the track title / track info?
@Daryl Ginn I would keep this "skipping-bar" hidden until the pointer enters the bar. This keeps it simple and clean.
@Tobias Reich Interesting.
I really like this idea!
great idea .. nice rebound :)
@Tobias Reich Great rebound. Looking so clean and sharp. LOVE ;)
like it, but not necessary... I prefer the @Daryl Ginn 's cleaner version.
I like the idea, but I think there could be some improvements. For example, that timer will occasionally block certain pieces of content. Maybe it would be better placed inside? Also, the line denoting where it is currently played is typically either yellow or red. That's minor though. I'm also not a fan of those separation lines at the top, and actually prefer the existing iTunes' header to that. The volume slider seems a little awkward as well. One thing I love is the cleaner looking sidebar with more white space. The whole idea is great and I wish iTunes had something like that to skip accurately to a certain position in the song.
love this (assuming it's a rollover extention of @Daryl Ginn's original)
