This animation runs really slowly in the browser. Bummer.

Rotating the backing pattern was an interesting process. I figured out that if I change Photoshop to use Nearest Neighbor for Image Interpolation in the General Preferences then Edit/Transform/Distort would use it too. So after manually drawing each frame of the card shape I used Distort to "rotate" the pattern. Then, since it was still an imprecise manual operation, I took the top or bottom half that looked best, copied it, deleted the opposite and flipped the copy.

As a game player I may never fully embrace 3d games but as a (wannabe) game designer/developer I totally get the allure.

Looking good, man! And by the way, I'd say you've past the "wannabe" status.

Looks good, but the final animation of the "cold" seems a bit odd. The animation of the back of the card is cool though.
