I like it! Maybe try, giving the cutlery a matt finish and placing them side by side rather than criss-cross.

1. Try without the rectangle surrounding the plate.
2. Light up the plate and add a bit of gloss.
3. Less of a gradient on the fork/spoon. I would choose fork and knife instead and put them both at 5 o'clock.
I think this has a lot of potential... I'm working on an iPad app for restaurants... would this be available to purchase?
