Bryan, I needed an example to demonstrate something in terms of building vectors. So I sketched this out and used it. I think I may re-draw the head and really play up the parakeet though, I like that. I'll post another image to explain this better.
Not saying it was intentional, but it looks very much like this here "Ossewabrandwag" emblem. Probably not the kind of association you are looking for either.

I'm seeing more of a parakeet or parrot with the way the tailfeathers branch out. But beautifully rendered, nonetheless!

Not seeing an eagle in it more of a parrot or parakeet. Like the simplicity of it though.

I don't see an eagle as much either. Its partially the tail, but I think its probably more the beak shape. Still looks great though.
