Square's technology and design is now inside New York City taxis.
This screen shows what the passenger sees in the back seat of the cab: a sleek black map of NYC, location (and nearby subway stops), weather conditions, and your running total. Swipe any time during the ride to pay.
Awesome, love the recolored maps. Why can't we see any other street names? What about route to destination? Traffic patterns, ATMs or other highlighted spots? Was it too much detail? or saved for future version?
after a second look, i have a question, why didn't you guys place the swipe card icon in the actual device ? does the black sidebar has more options or indications. Again, great work.

I'm sure you've been hearing it all day, but these maps are just damn sexy. Great work, Louie.

You rock, Louie, and so does everything about this. I only wish I were still in the city to enjoy your thoughtful design...

How many people are booking flights to NYC just to see this slice of asskickery in their cabs?!

I'm going to make it a point to ride a cab with one of these beauties.
Well done is an understatement.

How does that map work? Like do you have to draw the entire NY city map in this style? That must've taken days..
