I love this; I like the UI tidbits I'm able to see. Only thing I would say is make it a tad less flat and to lighten up the text a tad in the nav (back) button. It makes sense for it to be dark (since it's not supposed a main focus for a user's attention), but I think that dark is a little *too* dark.

Brian, you’re really pushing yourself in the mobile design arena and it shows.
If I may suggest something, I would give a bit more padding to your table rows. The text in each message is a little close to the text in other messages.

Damn dude! I had a similar idea for this app and I guess I'm late. Similar UI, but the slide had a totally different function.
It wasn't as simple as yours though. I think my idea would have been more complicated and probably not as good.
