A look at the pagination circles for our Zen Viewer for iPhone prototype iOS app. Art by Javier.
I shot the wood with my Canon EOS 7D. It's actually an unused cutting board we had in our kitchen and processed in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

I'd lighten the outer glow on the active state a bit. Except for that I agree with @Dominic M. - it looks great.

When put on an iPhone it's going to shrink down considerably to a 3.5" screen. You need the contrast. And yellow on a blond wood doesn't offer much in contrast.
