Something feels not quite right, with the shadows/highlights inside the box. Great cardboard texture.

The back left side of the box might benefit from a bit of darkening. The rest looks good.

Lookin' good. Can we see some corrugation on the ends of the cardboard planes?

The cast shadow on the floor in relation to the sharp shadows on the box look off to me. If the light source is throwing crisp shadows on the box like that then the same would be true on re floor (obviously with more dispersion, not 100% crisp).

    This is special.
It's maybe the color scheme, the simple-geometry-but-detailed-look or something else, but it feels like something that truly belongs to the Net, a parangon of Web illustration, as opposed to other type of illustrations (photos, drawings, paintings...) just reproduced there.
I'd like to see more things in this style but I really like it. It's special.

Looks too thick to be cardboard. Could you make the edges about 3/4 the size? Right now it has a heavy plank feel to it. Otherwise, well done!

    Looks great, really great.

Made the inside left of the box darker. I figured if the light was coming from the top-back-left, then the inside back left of the box would be in shadow. Also made the cardboard a little thinner, I agree with Able that it seemed too thick and more like a board.

Saving it out from Photoshop made the colors a little more drab, that was unintentional.

Looks quite nice, but I can't help thinking that it's just a cardboard coloured version of the dropbox logo (or very similar at least)

Tim here's my feedback. Take it or leave by to rot by the door :-)

    1) use perspective to avoid stiffness
    2) soften the edges along the opening and give them a thin highlight
    3) make the flaps thinner and their angle <90° - maybe different angles?
    4) in the hi-res icon add holes in the thickness of the cardboard
    5) the drop shadow is too blurry and makes the box float

    Just saying...

Made the inner left panel darker (like Raj Ramamurthy suggested and Justin Stahl's demonstrated, but a bit less dark). I actually like the cartoony feeling of the thick borders, making them thinner became too realistic. I'm gonna play a bit with the /\/\/\/\/ texture in the borders though. Tried it before but wasn't able to really nail it. I'm aware the drop shadow of the box clashes with the other shadow styles on the box, will explore further but I'm not gonna lie: I suck at shadows. About the perspective: I know it looks completely unrealistic, but it's a tribute to pixelart (2px horizontal, 1px vertical), and am not planning on changing that.

Thanks for the great feedback all, really appreciate it!!

Quite refreshing to see a non-hyper-realistic icon these days. Just because we can achieve realism it doesn't mean we have to. The perspective and the overall clumsy feeling of the box make it adorable.

Very nice. Reminds me a little of the DropBox logo, but that's not bad. Wonderful Tim. Simply wonderful.

Further shading would help... Possibly adapt it to a vanishing point for three sets of lines? That would do wonders.

Good work! It's weird that the shadow on the outside of the box goes from corner to corner. That creates a tangent and almost makes it look like a fold (if it weren't for the vertical texture). It's also a tangent where the shadow hits the corner of the flap. I suggest altering the angle of the light just a bit so that the shadow doesn't hit these weird points.

Otherwise, great work and I like the piece!

Really rad dude. The only thing that sticks out to me is the flaps in the background look longer than the foreground flaps. But I think they would appear to be shorter, the farther away from you that they are.
