Finally got hold of a photo of the printed label! :-D
I've attached a close-up of my new hand-drawn 'HERO' lettering detail.
Simon is my Hero.
@Joe Prince - Joe is my Prince. Touché! ;-)
@Julius Seniūnas - Ha ha! Love the Foo Fighters!
OMG this is gorgeous!! I wish the fair trade logo didn't look so tacky / clash with the elegance of the label. Please tell me this was the clients doing..
EDIT: oops, just read your desc. bummer!
@Eric Benjamin - pulling an all-nighter I see! Thanks for the comments!
send one bottle in Ukraine, please )
Superb stuff Simo! pity bout that fair trade guy, usually they put it on the back..
@Luke Ritchie - Agreed! New legislation surrounding Fairtrade. Has to be incorporated into the main label. Wish I could get my hands on that little guy, and wring his little neck! ;-)
@Luke Ritchie - think I'm going to remove the full bottle attachment. It really is ugly.
@Simon™ haha, no ways! that sucks so bad for wine label design...designers should make the ermm..design decisions when it comes to stuff like that..pfft
@Simon™ is there any chance (for next time) they'd let you design a fair trade logo to match the aesthetic of the rest of the label? You could use this one to sell the idea too! ;-)
PS keep the full view! it's a gorgeous bottle, and totally not your fault.
@Luke Ritchie - I had an opportunity to pitch for re-designing the South African wine tracking sticker (you generally find them on the capsule). They went with another design. Not terrible, but a bit amateurish IMHO. The South American and European ones actually add value.
@Eric Benjamin - Denver never sleeps! The Fairtrade logo is an official body that wineries subscribe to. We have to submit our labels to them for approval. Just another step in the approval process. There are other organizations checking the type heights of the alcohol volume, wine of origin statement, size of health warning, etc., etc. with a fine-tooth comb. Not to mention barcoding, and more.
PS When I have more time I'll Photoshop my original version and put that up.
lol design rarely sleeps; Denver is just cold ;-)
Sounds like a huge pain. I always see amazing package designs online; this makes me think they might all wind up with some tacky QR code or fair trade mark on them if this fine-tooth comb doesn't lose a few teeth.
Stop it, Simon. Just stop it.
@Milosz Klimek - OK, OK, I'll stop ... for the weekend at least! ;-)
man you make me angry! (in an admirative kind of way)
@Florin Capota - Ha ha! In that case, I really really really hate a lot of people on Dribbble! ;-)
@Simon™ , yea I know, me too :))
Great work. Nice to see some wine on Dribbble too :)
