This is the most fun I’ve had with Illustrator and Photoshop in awhile.

Wow. That's really impressive, Rob.
Impressive stuff Rob! The depth is perfect.
I love the varying string widths. Well done.
Superb stuff, Rob.
Wow. That is some seriously nice work Rob. I'd say you got all the subtle shadowing pretty much bang on.
VERY nice - Great work @Rob
I want to be able to like this more than once!
Nice work. Love the detail on the strings.
Love the details.. Awesome work..
i want to flag this as inappropriate cos it just ain't fair it's so awesome. :|
amazing, I love!
as a guitar player for years, I can say this is the real deal. Perfect! That wooden texture is soo spot on.
Hot dang, Rob, this is awesome! Just a small suggestion – the coils on a guitar string are ever-so-slightly angled; yours are perfectly straight. This is super nit-picky, I know, but if I had designed this, I would want to include that. Again, just my humble opinion. Great work!
agree with @Chandler Van De Water, but still it's cool
@Chandler Van De Water and @Wladyslaw Fedorov: Believe me, I appreciate your eye for detail. I actually did try to more accurately represent the angle of the EAD string coils, but that kind of nuance at a resolution this low just doesn’t work. At least this way the texture could be more than satisfactorily approximated. Besides, while you’re zoomed in, you might as well mention that real spruce and rosewood don’t get pixelated when you magnify them. :P
