The header for a Symphony CMS theme/ensemble I'm working on and plan to eventually release, named Sonata. Obviously, I compressed the whitespace down a bit, but you can check out the full mockup in the attachment :)
Basically, I wanted editing content to feel less of a chore and more exciting, like it actually is (... to me). Also, I'm simply in love with Symphony's power, flexibility, and simplicity, but the admin interface isn't exactly the most appealing thing in the world.
Unfortunately, there's no way for me to describe the pain I went through to arrive at this layout (lots of failed attempts xD). Luckily, I'm actually happy enough with this one to forget the other, truly terrible ones. Suggestions and constructive criticism are always welcome!
Oh, almost forgot. The background is from a great designer here.

It's looking good but I'm not entirely sure the drop shadow/outer glow being the same colour as the icon(1st on left) works very well. It looks very blurry. Maybe try black or white?
