This logo was a challenge. In short, it had to appeal to two completely different audiences, while leaning towards one more than the other. The audience in which I was supposed to lean towards was snowboarders and skiers. The other was... well, I'll spare you the details.
The final logo actually includes the full client name above the "SP". I left it out for privacies sake though – as it's not really 'final' yet.
Anyway this shot is from a proof of concept ad I made. I found the placeholder photo from this amazing series. Worth checking out.
I like this; especially the arrow/triangle shape under the P...I would be fun to play around with it throughout the brand items.
The only thing bothering me a little is the slant of the logo, I figure that you've got it aligned with the horizon, but would like to see it level with the image frame.
@Taylor: Funny you mention the angle of the logo. It was actually designed to be slanted like that. When I originally drew the letters, it seemed very bland. Then when I slanted it a bit, it all of a sudden came to life. When I pulled together this proof of concept ad, it was just a coincidence that the horizon lined up with it. I was wondering if anyone was going to think that was on purpose. haha

Looks great Kevin!
Is the arrow underneath supposed to represent a mountain?

@Jake: Yup, exactly. Haha I actually didn't even really see it as an arrow until mentioned it.
