Wow, the 'of' in the bottom option is mind-bogglingly beautiful. Really impressive. I love what you've done with 'Automotive', the positioning/size of the 'o's is totally making me think of wheels too. The spacing of that word feels a little strange (U-T is quite wide compared to a much tighter T-I) but aside from that, gorgeous.
This is beautiful Simon, definitely the bottom option. I think it really connects the top and bottom of the logo. The bottom also seems to just fit together better and the 'of Canada' is absolutely amazing.
I completely agree with Thomas! The symmetry ... or I guess balance of this piece is so great. Also, I love how "Georgian" is so different, yet flows so nicely with the other elements!
Great work, love it. I like the top option better, if only because I read "Estd. of Canada 1964". I'm weird like that, I can't read badge logos (with a center word and then a top-bottom phrase) correctly either.
Would love to know how you did the texture on the type, you got it just right.

Lovely Simon. I think I prefer the bottom option, if only because the swashes in "Of Canada" are so perfectly done.
Have you tried making the M normal cap height, and connecting the horizontal strokes of the two T's?

Thanks guys.
Trevor: that felt a bit too connecty for this, and lost visual weight in the middle.
Claire: funny you should say that, because they were actual wheels for a while, but I opted away from it in the end.

Yeah, the tall M is actually a perfect solution for that. Carry on!

the "t-o" and "o-t" in automotive are very original and I'm digging it. looks great.

The bottom version has nice visual distinction and separation between the main type and the of Canada bit. Nice work with the 'to' combinations, too.

Thanks guys. It's probably worth mentioning that this is an older project and that neither version made the cut as is.

The "TOMOT" reminds me of a front view of a car kind of like this .
Both look amazing, although I am preferring the second.

Wow. Great balance. Way to (visually) simplify a very long name :)

Great type! I get a really raw feeling out of this, which seems suiting for what it is.

Love the symmetry and the way it emulates the front grill of a car, but subtly.
