Warp animation I made in After Effects, then transferred into Flash for Nightcrawler.

*update* - attached what it will generally look like once it's in game.

@ Jason Harrop - For our game Marvel Avengers Alliance. Launching soon, it's currently in beta. Turned based RPG on Facebook, it's a fun game even if you don't play games on Facebook.

How have I missed your work... You have some really fantastic stuff.

@Johnny Waterman very nice! Had you ever thought about making him shrink to about 20%, then warp away? Same for coming in?

@Rogie Hehe, nightcrawler actually is scaling down and fading out. You can tell more so when he warps back in, it's a easeOut animation when he warps out and an easeIn animation when he warps back in. It's just so fast, like a 6 frame animation (.2 seconds), that your eye doesn't really notice it, but it does. If I didn't scale it, you would def see it. Watch the shadow, you can see it scaling. It's hard to tell, because when he's scaling, the center of the smoke effect is where he's scaling to, so he is somewhat hidden by it.

EaseIn animations in flash are more noticeable because they start slow and finish fast, easeOut animations happen much quicker because they start fast at the beginning and slow down at the end.

This was just something I did for this though, so it looked more correct with a static in place warp. I don't control the character animations really. When this effect happens in game, he is punching and kicking, so there isn't really a need for scaling.
