I was on the right track with the first iteration, but it lacked any clear unifying statement. This version, I decided to go literal by adding guitar necks, lightning bolts (what's Rock & Roll without lightning bolts) and a pinhole for the record. I also changed the typography from Arvil to Gibson and set the type in two weights for better contrast.
It'd be interesting to see what it looks like w/ just the record by taking out the guitar necks. I think they distract from the overall awesomeness of the record w/ the pinhole and lightning bolts.
Like this one better than the others. Nice seeing the process...
The thunder bolts fit perfectly, but the guitar necks feel unnatural. Like Mike said, the ribbon needs something to separate it from the circle. The logo itself looks very dimensional, but then when you look at the ribbons with nothing to separate them it flattens out the logo. Like where it's headed, but just doesn't feel right with the guitar necks and the ribbon the way they are now.
@Mike McAlister Yes. This is a new theme we are cooking up in the lab. It's been something we have been discussing for quite some time now and are finally going to tackle. I think you are right. The ribbon gets lost in the crest. After walking away from this, it now looks like stumpy arms to me.
@Eric 'WizKid' Odom Thanks! The guitar necks feel unnatural in what way exactly?
@Jay Hollywood Thanks. Coming from someone who really knocks logos out of the park, that is much appreciated.
There was some great feedback and all of it much appreciated. I've decided to define the ribbon, make the guitar necks a little smaller and changed the Audio Theme font to RBNo2 Light (still debating that font choice as it may get lost in the wash at smaller size). All of the changes are pretty subtle with the exception of the outer badge to soften it up a bit.

@Derek Jensen I have a scribbled down note to reduce the size of the guitars as the are a bit too large right now.

Like the addition of the bolts and guitar heads, but the ribbon behind them looks a bit off. Needs something to separate them from the circle.
Is this a new theme Pixel8 theme? Can't wait to see it, dude!
