Slow progress is better than no progress. Still trying to get the lockup to read right, reduced to relatively simple shapes for the time being.

I think "A is for" feels a bit crowded in that circle. And the ampersand inside the word ampersand seems to read like a capital E, so it looks like Ampersend. Also, what is the purpose of the diamond inside the D?
I like the color palette of this version, it's nice to see the orange brought in. However, compositionally I think this one flows better: http://dribbble.com/shots/314387-A-Is-For-Ampersand-Redux-v3
The orange-brown banner is nice. I do agree with @Sarah Gridley on the ampersend thing.
The simpler the better in my opinion. Look forward to seeing the final version.
I agree with Sarah on crowded "A is for" and the ampersand in the word. Perhaps you can replace the E with it instead of the A?
