Yes I was definitely trying to establish depth by using only shape and not line to define the furthest buildings. I always tell my illustration students to study landscapes of Impressionist painters. Details in the distance get softer in color, tone & detail.

Thanks everyone! Used a combo of traditional brushes and my Wacom pad to get that line quality. Less color is always more.
