If you are asking you should try and easy reference like a shirt over a chair or even better a photo. It's kinda hard to fake it. The key is to remember be sharp line for the folds and creases and subtle tonal change as it unfolds. Probably makes no sense...
I will definitely try the shirt/chair thing. I've got about 50 pillows on my couch and I'm sure I could form them into some homunculus that I can drape stuff over.
