   Have you thought of making the concentric circles more like gears. It would do justice to the name and your love for the one on the left.
   Just noticed, for the name Writespace the icon on the left is pretty apt. Somehow, I still do not like the icon on the right.

   There you go! Love this. Definitely the one on the right. Way crisper than both mine and your previous executions. This is definitely the way to go. Plus it looks like you got that little 1px of white at the top, that really completes the effect. Love the right one!!
