Tripod is an older animation experiment I just stumbled upon, while looking for some render between old project folders. The thing was modeled in 3ds max back in the days. Textures are hand-drawn with pencil on paper - which means: 3d modeling - uv unwrapping - printing - drawing - scaning - rendering.
The simple rig was also made in 3ds max. On top are a few layers of minmal post production in After Effects.

@rosch Stunning!!! Why did you use 3DS Max instead of Cinema4D?:) It's better for modeling?

@Ondrej Lechan : no, in my opinion with the current R13 there isn't much of a difference for modelling between those two.
I just used max back when I did the Tripod in university. Now I use Cinema, because it's used in most motion studios.
