Mobile Application Design for Security Alarm System

Hello there!

I currently designing a mobile app for a security alarm system. Our clients from a security alarm company asked us to develop a mobile and a web app for their alarm systems to make them more efficient and user-friendly.

Has it ever happened to you that instead of arming or disarming your security system, you pushed the wrong button by mistake or something else went wrong? You weren’t able to fix it, the alarm went off and a team of security officers came to your place, ruining your day. Sounds familiar? Well, according to the statistics, up to 98% of all alarm calls in the US are false alarms. The main cause for it is user error, or rather the inability to fix this error. And that’s where Security Alarm Mobile App comes in.

Goals
Creating a UX, UI mobile app design for a security alarm system to improve the way users interact with it, making it truly convenient and easy to use. Including all the necessary tools so that users could get full control over the security system using only their gadgets.

Approach
One of the requirements for the design was to make it clean and professional-looking, so we didn’t add any excessive elements or heavy color schemes not to distract attention from the main elements. On the left screen, you can see your security status, sensor indicators and video from CCTV system. The right screen displays Central Hub with main data about the system state. Users can arm and disarm the system just by tapping the blue button, as simple as that.

Results
We ended up with a clean and intuitive mobile app design that’ll improve our client’s product, reduce the number of false alarms and make the service more efficient and user-friendly.
