Mo Gestures

I been making some more, I'm not 100% on the one in the bottom left (two fingers down), critique welcome as always. I lost a couple due to Photoshop being awesome and dying on me (and my stupidity for not saving).

I'm trying to come up with a way to show "upward flick" in my chosen style, but it's tough because the movement line/circle thing is mostly covered by the hand, hmm what could I do guys? :c

The knuckles closest to the tip of the fingers in the bottom right gesture icon look like they are bending the wrong way. When I pull down with two fingers my fingers stay curved naturally because I don't push hard. Just a suggestion for something you may want to change.

I'd imaging the "upward flick" motion/icon to be almost like a HD stop motion sort of thing. Like this: http://c.ethk.in/3W0I1W0j3Z3H1L2p2C1O — Only your finger. Perhaps even lowering the opacity on each individual frame (finger)?!

Yes! That would work! You're awesome James.

Now in a similar way, how do I do upward swipe? LOL

@Gavin, I think that would very amongst people. I personally have my fingers bent like the illustration. I will, however, say that those fingers look really noodley from the middle knuckle to the tip.

@Gavin Nelson @Jake Moore Yeah :3 thanks guys, I see what you mean. They're too smooth/thin right? Maybe I shouldn't use my own hands. LOL I was thinking about making the ends a bit thicker anyway, thanks Jake.

@Prekesh Chavda — I'm guessing an upward swipe or any "swipe" motions, you could integrate arrows or something? Perhaps drawing the hand in its first position, using the arrows to show the user the direction its going in and then use these little things (http://c.ethk.in/0z302a3c1e0O0Q1Q3l1x) to show were you've began/finish.

These are looking awesome though. They for a client or are you going to be giving them away/selling? :)

My money is on the table. I want them naow!

@James ✌ Yeah I was thinking arrows would be the last thing I do if I can't figure anything else out. I did it how I have now but the hand covers the majority of the circle/line thing like this: http://cl.ly/E6Up

and they're just something I thought I'd do on the way home on wednesday. I think I'll sell them or give them away, depends on how big the set is and how many people are interested when I'm done, thanks sir :3

    those hands are sexy.

What about something like that for the upward swipe?

    http://cl.ly/E7O9

Just an idea, it doesn't really fit your proportions so it might not work...

@Prekesh Chavda How about folding the thumb underneath the palm so that the point of contact is not hidden. I realize all your other hands have thumbs explicitly shown so maybe it might not fit with the consistency you have going.

@Ricky Linn Thanks for the feedback dude, I've been loving your work recently :P even this morning I was browsing your profile. *creep

Anyway, I tried that :( without lighting and other things to show that the thumb is underneath the hand, it just looks like the hand is missing a thumb. I might try it again, wouldn't hurt.

@Baldoph Thanks sir, I did that one and it works, but as you said it doesn't fit my proportions, although I'm willing to let that slide if that's my final option.
