To be fair, I wasn't really excited when I saw this shot but seeing it on the real device is just another story. So much better!

Nothing better than having someone I admire artfully redesign an app I use daily.

Question, though: I see you changed the popular from a heart to a star, which I think makes more sense. But why did you leave a heart inside the talk bubble? If popular is now represented by a star, shouldn't it be a star inside a talk bubble?

Dayumn! It's about time ParmaHam* (*What I coin as "Instagram" in Cockney Slang) had a fresher UI. :D

Also, is it me or is there a very subtle grain/noise in the UI? Yum yum.

I very much love the absence of "makeup" here. It's pretty, but more soothing and clean. I'm sure anyone could've made it all shiny and sparkly.

Also, very interesting that there were no UX changes, or at least none that I could find by a quick look. Or maybe that's planned for later?

Gotta say, I think the icons can be improved.

I have no idea what the fourth is meant to represent (favorite comments? liked comments?), and it's not clear at all because that view lacks a title in the nav bar. Profile icon also isn't super clear.

@Josh Puckett Fourth icon speaks to me about activity relating back to you (obviously), but the likes and comments are what you get most on Instagram (as well as follows), but maybe likes and comments occur more, so both of those are put together in one icon. ;-)

I can agree with you on the profile icon, but personally, I think anything more to it, it clutters the design. Just my two cents. :-)
