my guess is they're bruises/bloodstains on the knuckles from punching people so many times before and and after reading sessions — punchin and readin, they go together like pb&j.

I really like it...except the knuckles. It confuses what you're supposed to be looking for in the negative space.

I think the knuckles work, something about them creates a balance...is that a book mark from the book? cool

I was hoping he was wearing driving gloves like Ryan Gosling - http://www.metroactive.com/movies/images/09.14.11/drive.jpg

I love this mark. And think it's really strong. I think you could maybe simplify though. These are just suggestions so take it for what it's worth. That cut-in on the pages could be thickened for smaller sizes and the knuckles are kind of confusing. http://cl.ly/2h1i3S1p2g050e1z1z22

@Jake Dugard Thanks dude, appreciate the feedback. I was looking at the same thing but got an itchy feeling that it might be too generic like that.

I love the concept but wish the book was a little bigger. It feels (slightly) insignificant as-is.

I personally favor the inclusion of knuckle indicators.

    Mooi logo Tim!!

I do have a mixed feeling about the book though, in a small size version it's very hard to tell it's a book, it looks more like a door handle. Perhaps it's the proportions, that bookmark is very wide compared to the thickness of the book.

I have no idea how to improve that though :P

knuckles are great. what do you think about making all fingers same size, so you can have all the knuckles on a single line?

Thanks for all the feedback and nice words, everyone. It's not often everyone gives great constructive critism like this, so thanks for doing that.

You know Tim I don't even think that the knuckles are necessary. It's such a identifiable icon that it doesn't help it. And, when it's reduced in size, those "knuckles" will go away anyway. Really cool. Me like.

I really dig the look of this, Tim. But I don't think it's that effective as a mark in its current state. Seems like it would be really easy to mistake the book for a sixth finger. I also misread the knuckles at first as maybe eyes or drips.

I love it very much. For me the knuckles work, but it is more the book... to small and i do not understand it (het lapje dat zo naar links wijst). Colors are great! Very fresh and modern for a bookstore.
