I remember growing up and play Super Mario Brothers for hours! It was the only game I would play besides sonic the hedgehog.
I really wanted to explore a more simple style that used no outlines and simple shades and minimal colors.
I am no part of the this epic series but, I love being able to explore new styles and thought just do something cool and give tribute to the guys!
I think Kyle, Matt, Justin and Rogie nailed this series! I hardly think my piece is anything as good as theirs but I really enjoy making it. I really think that is all that matters.
Oh man nostalgia for my original nintendo days right here!! I'd love to see a rebound with the orange gun / nintendo / cartridge / etc (maybe I should try a bit in this series!) excellent work Nick!
My cousin and I would play for hours when we weren't spining ourselves sick on the tire swing. We'd leave it on pause overnight. You couldn't save your progress.
@Doug Penick: That would be great! If I make others smile then I am doing something right :D! Also if you are ever in the area you area always welcome my friend! Cheers :D!
Why don't you value your knowledge/skills? I see that you constantly mention same people and constantly keep saying that you didn't good designer as they are. I know that you have great respect for them (we all have), but you are also great designer and I don't think you should minimize your value always. Sorry if this post was negative, but on the contrary, I wrote it with a positive idea.
Keep up good work, coz this Mario set is uber cool!
@Jovan Petrić: I think mainly my reason is that I think I can always do better. So it motivates me to be better. I am also humble and even though I do a good job I rather not admit it. I totally agree my friend! I think before I didn't have much confidence in my ability even though I am talented. I just think I have a lot to learn still but, yet I want to hold on to my values as staying humble and staying nice. I think what I fear is having an ego. I also think there is better designer then me that I wish would get recognize more. I appreciate your support Jovan it means a lot to me! I am a normal dude in a ever growing design world trying to do something that I enjoy and learn with everyone else.
