   I just see a tonsil whenever I look at this, perhaps it's the red. Makes me think 'tonsil pyramid' more than 'lavabits'.

   Nice work. Although many are right about the L - it's really not that important. I think it fits Lavabits just perfectly - and you don't need to really depict the L in the logo. I think the Volcano and the negative lava. I might play around with the width of it just a tid bit. I like it though.

   Shouldn't have mentioned the L. Would have saved so many comments…

   Subjective L is > Literal L in a case like this.

   It works great as is. Don't touch it (cause it's lava?)
