Much better than the NFL update. Let's be honest the moves the NFL makes with regards to identity have been stagnant since they decided every Super Bowl logo was getting the generic chrome treatment. There used to be so much character in the individual SB branding. Such a shame.

Great work Fraser, as always. One thing though...the tongue seems a bit off in my honest opinion...not that it looks bad, it doesn't, but it somehow confuses the focus...it looks as if "one mouth" is grinning the teeth, and "other" is pointing out the tongue...
But still, far far far better than the current version.

As everyone else has said, this is so much better than the NFL update. All of your work is awesome, so the NFL along with other sports leagues should be hiring you to update all of their logos.

I actually prefer their new direction with your amendments.
I think this version feels a bit more saber tooth, while your amended version of their current look is a bit more sleek and 'panther' like.
I too am from NC and have really enjoyed seeing your different takes.
