Booklet design for inside this CD package. Rather happy with this spread! Went for a large image with a solid colour on the opposite side which hopefully matches the image, and the colours of the front cover.
Stunning, the colours and layout are spot on. Finally, a designer that knows what they're doing with type, photos, colour, grids and overall design. :)
However, I'm not convinced that the quote text is fully legible (please don't just chuck a drop shadow under it). Perhaps you could move the image down, gradient-mask the top, put a similar colour to the sky under neath (to give the impression of a longer sky), and then put the quote on the sky. In my opinion, that's be a greater contrast, and wouldn't cover up the lovely dark area of the mountainous area below.
@Louis Bullock - great point! The client has actually asked for the quote to go across two pages now, so I'll need to do some shuffling around. Not sure how I'm going to fit the text in as there's no spare pages!
@Ben Gage@matt yow - I agree, it's a quote that really means a lot to me.
@Jonathan Myers - not really! I still love buying CDs. I prefer having something to hold, and I think a lot of people still prefer to get an actual product.
@Jonathan Ogden Right. Perhaps you could make the position of the page be portrait, and have the photo at the bottom, extend the sky's colour upwards to give a sense of height, and you'll have to figure out the placement of the text.

I think the colors go very well together. I see a similar shade in the treeline of the photograph.
