Looking forward to trying out the new version of BaseApp. I've been using the the previous version on a few sites and it's been a great starting point! Thanks for all your efforts. New one is looking sweet.
Thanks Shane. Are there any features you would particularly want/need in the new version? At the moment, it's just me contributing to it. A few people have forked but then changed it completely for what they need - which, of course, is great but it doesn't help the development :-(. Glad you like it though!
Danny, I'd love to expand on the Settings functionality. I've been thinking about making it work more dynamically, allowing you to add and delete settings on the fly as opposed to having them hardcoded in the database.
I'll see what I can do as far as contributing back. Are there any specific areas you need help with or are toying around with adding? Hit me up for some help if you want. I'd love to contribute back to it.
Hi Shane, I know exactly what you mean about the settings - I have tried to get it working so the Admin can choose from a handful of ready made colour schemes but for some reason I can't get my head around the best way to do it. I'll find you on GitHub. Thanks, Danny
Way too much like Basecamp methinks :(
Hi William, when I coded the layout for BaseApp2 it was for an internal application of mine that basically made it easier to get our data into Highrise by 37signals. As everyone using the app uses Highrise on a daily basis - and the applications sole purpose is to get data into Highrise it made sense to match the styles quite closely. I am working on a new layout for BaseApp2 that's not so close. I realise that this needs to be sooner rather than later though!
Thanks for the feedback!
