Working on a new HTML5 video player for Virb. I've never done one before, so suggestions are welcome. I'm trying to find a nice sense of depth without going overboard on the layer effects.

Also, my son Asher loves Toy Story. *so proud*

I'm not sure about the light stroke on top. I'd make it a dark grey, it feels a little distracting. Otherwise this looks like what it should be, I think :)

@Marshall Norman Great suggestion, looks better already!

@Rogie thanks dude! I'm not building (just designing) but I might have a peek anyways, just for fun.

The light stroke on top of your control bar is throwing me offer a bit.

Not sure if you're planning on doing this or not, but I would also suggest doing some type of rollover for volume to make it easier for the user to increase or decrease volume. Your icon is so small that getting on the exact bar to increase or decrease might be difficult.

@Ryan Clark main suggestions would be: (1) mock with many different types of stills (light, dark, bright, muted, noisy, sparse) (2) consider straight flat executions for ease of customization (3) don't be afraid to buck conventions and think in terms how people actually use players.

They are a lot of fun to design though =)
