I really like your work but the execution feels way too superfluous. What aspect of the brand are you trying to convey through the utilisation of transparencies and gradients? I do like the visual aspect of a 'knotted' 'K' but can't quite see the relationship with any aspect of event planning.
The bands of colour and twist does remind me of a lanyard, perhaps that's what I'm to take from this?
Thanks for the comment Richard.
This is a festive ribbon (in abstract form), as I see it.
I understand your question. But I think that the logo can be anything. Therefore, we can see most extraordinary logos around. Often the logo elements have only a decorative role :)
Sure, I think you are right to a degree, but believe that when you're building an identity from the ground it's important to generate ideas from a point of reference (and research) rather than just flights of fancy. As you mention, your design originates from a festive ribbon, a nice idea, but think you could tone down the effects.
It might also be worth considering the global associations people have with crossed ribbons; mostly charities etc.

Anyway just some friendly thoughts.

Thanks again for comment Richard. Much appreciate it. I see the logic in what you said and no one bothers me to think about them :)
