I have a few different versions sketched out.
I originally wanted this style to be the actual logo but i've changed my mind due to wanting to have my name in the logo.
It is definitely shaping up to be quite a classy logomark! I could see this working quite a few ways. For example, lets say you punched that S through the background, and made that background white - you could stick that on anything and it would sleek (bottom corner of a website or something).
You could use a mixture of the logomark and logomark with type, through your branding. When you have an icon style logomark like that you wouldn't always need to use the type with it... but you would have the logotype there to back it up.
Could even get yourself a t-shirt with the big S on the front! :-P
You might lose some of that texture on the red when it's scaled down small, so do test prints of it as you're working on it to see how it's working.
