    Finally got to the 'GIF Feed' and the Tab Bar, really love how this looks in Retina, can really achieve some great things.

    +1 on the confusing active state. Also, I think that your heart might need to be shifted down a pixel or two to make it look visually centered.

    I think its pretty obvious which is the active state? The one thats indented and bright orange. Also, the slideout UI will slide up from that "Activity" tab as soon as you arrive at the 'Feed', indicating to the user they have activity in their Profile (like Instagram).

    Great idea with the activity pop-up. I think it's obvious that the bright orange is the active button. It's becoming a fairly common iPhone design pattern for the main, most important, and actionable button to be larger and in the middle (camera in your case) and I don't think it will be confusing for users.
