In Context, although the whole site is being redesigned.
Some change in direction, but using aspect of the previous design. Mostly using the raised 'tabbed' 'F' as link to bookmarking, finding your page/way, quick easy find links to your fav news etc.
We decided to keep with the existing 'icon shape' as there is an existing loyal userbase who are familiar with the green look of Feedly. The white stripes also have a subtle link back to the '3 bar RSS' icon, although Feedly is'nt strictly all about RSS feeds, it is a important part of the experience.
The actual shape of the container is reflected at the beginning also of each of the white bars in the 'F', the bottom smallest one being the exact shame shape. So just a nice small detail to follow through with. Which also gives effect of a 'turned-up' corner.
The focus had to be creating an icon 'shape' that could be scaled down to the 16px/18px format for the browsers with out any loss of detail. This includes the colour icons for Chrome and Firefox and the mono only version for Safari. So a solid and flexible mark was aim here.
The angled version is the main app logo and variations of this will be used for the various browser icons for Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
Icon for FireFox and Chrome
App Icons in context (labels are existing apps)
The square version designed for iPad and iPhone applications of Feedly.
Finished of with a nice slab of Helvetica Neue Bold.

So shiny I want to press it! :-D
Really like this. I've been using Feedly for over a year. I'm glad you're moving away from the "standard" rss symbol. Glad you're keeping the green though. Looks great!
I checked out Feedly as a result of this shot and I'm loving it. Can't wait to see the logo go live on it!
As for the logo I think it's perfect, especially when I think about the product it's for and how it's going to look there. Also it's nice to see a product and website that is as good as the logo, a very nice fit if you ask me!
Mark : LOL Will be muting the shadow and highlight areas a little bit in next tweak, it's just a tad too dark down left side.
Michael : Feedly have big plans this year, hence the update to the identity. iPad and iPhone app's as well as refinements to the general design of the website. It's been great working with them.
Liam : It's a great site, really is. Like everything, needs a bit of time to set-up, but I feel once you have done that then it provides a great launching pad for all your stuff. If you use Firefox, there is a special Feedly browser toolbar (feedly mini) tab menu for sharing, tweeting etc, makes it all very neat and easy.
You'll like where they are taking the general UI etc
Graham, that's great news! I love Feedly and check it every day. I'm looking forward to getting the iPhone app. Will you be designing all of those?
Good job man:)
Some time ago i came up with a very similar "F" idea, but someone told me about Feedly, so i changed the direction.

This is great. Just saw they launched today (I think?). Did you work on all the UI also?
